Our history
The initial capital of DKK 1.1 million was collected in Denmark and Greenland and presented as a gift on the occasion of the wedding of Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess in May 2004.
In August 2006, Crown Princess Mary took the first step towards the current commitment to the struggle against social isolation by establishing “The Mary Foundation – HRH Crown Princess Mary’s Foundation”.
Eight cofounders have paved the way and laid the financial groundwork for the Mary Foundation.

Since the launch of its first project in 2008, the Mary Foundation has stood out for its good results within two current areas of intervention, namely “bullying and wellbeing” and “domestic violence”, where the Mary Foundation is engaged in a series of dynamic projects in cooperation with a wide array of partners.
